Ok guys, sorry for the back and forth but we are going back to the original format that we have used the first two years. You MUST declare that your round will count as one of your two rounds on the day you are playing, before teeing off. The logic behind it is that declaring puts some pressure on the golfer to play well that day as opposed to having six rounds to log your best two scores. Below are the final rules/format:
Players must declare their intention to play in the Scratch Tourney, and pay their $20 entry to me or Mike Morris before the start of play on the first playing date (this year it is 9/21/2024)
Players have the following six Saturday playing dates (9/21, 9/28, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2) to declare and play their two rounds that will comprise their total gross score
It is NOT the best two out of six rounds; players MUST declare before the start of their round if they will count the round for the Scratch tournament
Notice MUST be given to me verbally, by text (504) 554-1784, or by email (raylocicero@gmail.com or rkl@kullmanlaw.com) BEFORE the start of the round
If weather cancels more than two weeks of play, we will extend until we have totaled four playing dates (make sure that you don’t get caught without enough playing dates to get your two rounds in, no refunds of entry fees will be given)
Rounds must be played within the CPGC Saturday groups
Rounds can be played on the same date as another Club tournament (except the GOLDEN OLDIES tourney on 10/5)
Report scores to me after completion of the round, I will publish updates early in the week
Winner-take-all pot
If there is a tie at the end of play, the players involved will decide on a tiebreaker date with the tournament director (me) to hold the sudden death playoff. If I am involved, (I won’t be this year), then I will seek the assistance of a Board Member who is not involved
